What are you going to use to plug up your holes???

I have used steel wool - Just pack it into any small spaces they could get though. Mice really hate it, so they wont chew it or it or pull it out, and if you get the Stainless Steel wool it wont rust :D

Good idea. I think we used it inside once...

The second night had mixed results. I set three traps again, and this morning all were empty BUT one was licked clean!!! :yelling: So, I either put too much peanut butter on it, the trap was caught, the mice around here have go go gadget necks, one mouse had another mouse on his shoulders and he ate it off, the got a stick proped open the trap while they feasted and then removed it........ or I was just unlucky!!! Tonight I'll be removing the outside trap and putting it where the inside ones are so they'll be two where the little ***** get in, and one on the shelf they used as their toilet! They will not outsmart ME!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday my husband found 12 dead pink mice under a cupboard in the budgie room. So I guess we've killed the mother. It's horrible that only one little mouse can have so many babies. And they can breed when they're very young :hap:

I've also had a couple of traps empty and cheese was gone, I don't know how the mice do it :budgiedance: But a couple of times we caught 3 mice in one trap at the same time, which is very cool ^_^

I hope you get rid of them, mice are horrible...

Perhaps the mice are allergic to peanuts and avoided them :hap: :budgiedance:

l remember a long time ago when l was 16, l use to feed the local wild birds in the winter time with seeds and sunflower seeds. l would store them in large plastic containers, one day l opened one of the lids and found a nest of about 8 pink babies and the mom on top of the seeds :fear . l caught the mom and got rid of her and the babies. the babies where already dead when l found them. needless to say that was the last winter that l fed the wild birds.

l'm thinking of starting to feed the wild ones again. l enjoyed watching them.

Maesie, good luck in getting rid of them, l know how destructive and a nuisance they can be :P

I have been reading this post, I have a story to tell you (Laughing out loud). We had a baby mouse in our bedroom and the cats were looking at it just staring. So we found they had crawled into the attic and that is how they got in the bedroom. So my husband goes to buy traps and bring our daughter with us. She in turn bursts into tears and says daddy those will kill them and he ended up getting the humane traps and we let them go back in our woods. They didn't come back thank goodness but can you imagine the look on our 6 yrs at that time face

On, topic....hope they are gone soon

WooHoo, way to go.... they are such a pest and so hard to eradicate.

Oh my gosh, that sounds just like Jacquie! Sometimes all we end up with is a tail when the cats finish with them, but I remember in our old house we had traps and Jacquie would freak out if they weren't dead and took them outside to let them go... [shakes head]

Still only 3, so I'm moving the traps around a little... to keep them on thier toes... The smell has gone though, so I don't think there are too many left.

Your poor daughter Elly... :) Kids are just too cute!

When I think of pidgeons, I think of Bert on 'Sesame Street' singing to them and feeding them :hap: ... Sad isn't it. Too much time watching ABC TV with the kids I used to babysit! mmm I miss those days. LIV!!! It's catching. Now I've done it too

Luckily, we only once ever had a mouse problem, and even then it wasn´t much of a ¨problem¨. Further back, someone said cheese? I´ve heard somewhere that mice are lactose intolerant or something like that, so I don´t think they´d go for the cheese? Would they? ... Uh... ...Oops.

:hap: ! I don't think they go for it. We use peanut butter on our traps, which seems to work. I remember using cheese when I was young, but can't remember if they ate it or not?!

Back to my mice hunt for just a moment :( Still only three. I'm doubtful we'll catch anymore. I'll do another big clean up this weekend. I'll still continue to set the traps, but we'll see what happens... okay, back to :) ... come on feathers... stretch for that cd girl! :D
