You'll have to post some pics when it's completed . The only thing, with the 'natural floor', dirt can be a haven for bacteria, especially if it gets damp and mixed with urine & faeces. You have to know that ANYTHING that you have planted in a budgies aviary will last no time at all. We had fully planted out aviaries and in a very short space of time...what the budgies didnt eat was destroyed. Soil floor aviaries also reinfect birds with worms and they can catch coccidiosis when the floors are wet. To make plants grow you need rain and sunlight from above , and that in turn means wild bird droppings will get in too causing health issues. While plants are nice...they arent practical with birds. You can grow potted plants and rotate them in and out of the aviary as the birds almost kill them, and you try and bring them back to life before they go back in there. Not much plant-wise survives budgie attacks. Edited February 5, 2008 by KAZ Link to comment

I had a small aviary once which was double wired with the 1cm x 1cm wire(crossing over the middle of the other set of wire) and mice still got in... Not a whole lot you can do Pics when you can would be good to see :hap: Link to comment
