August 8, 200717 yr I'm not clued on this but I know he would be marked down for the colour bleeding into the body.
August 9, 200717 yr thanks guys i thought he was gorgeous too:P one of the very few birds i have that are actually big with a big head:P definatly hoping to get him breeding soon with my other big dominant pied girl:D
August 9, 200717 yr Just unraveling him for a class. His class is the Dominant Pied Class. He would be considered as a Dominant Pied, Yellowface Opaline Skyblue Cock. It would be good to see him stand. Mask: Good. You could get some acceptable spots out of that. I would be pairing him to a normal hen to see if you could unravel him.

August 9, 200717 yr Normal means a normal color like either all blue or all green bird where there is no mutations in involved as for size, you will have to wait for Daz as for color, from what I understand greens are great to use especially to increase the size of the bird but again wait and see with others say.

Normal as in colour, use a show size bird.ie a show breed bird, a green or grey green.
August 9, 200717 yr aww i dont have any normal coloured show size birds aside from a normal blue cock.... would a opaline dominant pied sky blue do? she's rather big and 06 rung? but thats as normal as it gets beside a yf1 violet? maybe her:S? Edited August 9, 200717 yr by ~libby~
August 9, 200717 yr the normal genes make many of the other genes stronger so I would search for a normal green that is my personal opinion
August 9, 200717 yr If your not trying to breed up to show birds.okay use what you like. But if you are trying to breed for show. put it to a green,Are you a member of a budgie club, talk to a member. You will need rings, they are $45.00 a 100.
August 10, 200717 yr Any size can be rung but the pet birds are rung a little later that the show birds. Do to size. Elly it's the Grey green that adds size to a green. Pairing to light green all the time can reduce size.
August 26, 200717 yr Green is the wild form of budgie and it has not really been tampered with, with other mutations they have been inbred to each other to keep the strain and some like the grey I heard if you put Grey to Grey, than Grey to Grey again than it decreases the size. I know green isn't the nicest color but...you should always start out with normals and add mutations later. Thats what I have been told over and over again.
August 27, 200717 yr thought i'd let you know he's chosen his own mate in the aviary she's another YF2 dominant pied but isnt opaline... she's show size like him but i guess we'll see if it works out.. doesnt really bother me as i'm not intrested in showing and hopefuly the chicks will still be gorgeous:)
