Guest 3-birds-2-luv
I just bought a keet and I think its a male. It has a blue cere. I just found out that no one can tell the definate gender of the budgie until later. Is there any way I can tell if its a male or female NOW? Link to comment

Some are difficult till they get older, but sometimes you can tell, even when quite young. If you don't have a camera look for photos on here of other peoples birds & see what others have told them & maybe you can work it out for yourself. Edited July 7, 2007 by Norm Link to comment

Also are you quarantining this new bird? It is best to check for signs of illness which the stress of the move to a new place can bring out, which can then in turn infect your existing birds. Guest 3-birds-2-luv
I just got that bird. I think he is still small 0-4 months, since he has full black eyes. My other birds have white around their eyes, you might me able to see one on the lower right corner. They have white inside and round the black. I'll try to get another picture. I'd try to take him out of his cage, but his wings aren't clipped and he isn't fully tamed... Bue I'll try...I hope I have a male..but whatever I get is what I'll have to live with and Ill still love it the same.. And no im not quarantining him. I just put him in. It’s good to take a picture in good natural light where the flash won’t come on. If that white look is true I would lean towards it being a female. Link to comment
