I am still absolutely, totally, in love with Pastelle. They are all so beautiful, I'm looking forward to seeing the new clutch hatch.

No. unfortunately I believe they will be too small. I did not legring these chicks due to both parents being pet types.

Bad news...PASTELLE has been diagnosed epileptic. She fits and flies into things. She occasionally lays on her back in the cage and spins in circles. She comes good on her own, mostly, but she must be watched. She isnt eating real well now and needs to be crop fed as a supplement to add to her seed eating.

Brother FABIO and Sister LACEY are in the fledgling aviary and doing fine.

Oh, poor, beautiful Pastelle. That is very sad news. Lacey is getting prettier and prettier. It will be interesting to see if the colouring stays the same when they go through their first moult.

I will have to. The vet doesnt think she will progress very much further. She can choke whilst fitting.

Some good news. Pastelle hasnt had a fit since the day she saw the vet and she is eating on her own. It seems she may be okay as far as epilepsy goes and she may have fitted due to an accident, maybe having flown into the aviary wall. Cross fingers anyway.

I spoke too soon

Pastelle was as good as gold earlier, happily going up ladders in her kindie cage with the other babies, and I was away from the aviary for less than an hour and when I returned I found her dead. I guess she did have epilepsy after all.

Sophie has two babies so far. The second one has plum coloured eyes...maybe recessive ? as I dont think cinnamon is in the genes
