Guest memonty
These are some of the budgies we have bought over the last few months (since December last year) to start our "show" breeding program in a month or so. We will eventually / hopefully one day be able to enter some babies in as show budgies. I know I need more females - I do have a couple which I haven't photographed but am going to see another breeder on Monday. These are just my favourite. What do you think? Any advice on what could be improved or just general advice etc would be GREATLY apreciated. These ones are still young. These photos are from a month or so go - I'm not sure if I posted these before but these are my favourite too Edited April 7, 2007 by memonty Link to comment

I accually like the first two. He looks to be a taller bird with good stance. She is stocky and strong. He has a long mask, she has width of mask. He has a start of a good frontal. You could also go that hen to the Light green or the cinamon. Very good start. Link to comment

Hi Daz - Yep, I was thinking the top two also - or maybe the hen and the light green. Thank you. I Love my green - look how proud he looks I'm going to have a look at another breeder on Monday - will have to find two special hens to go with the light green. I thought of maybe the yellowface I bought on Friday with the cinamon (eventually) as he is quite stocky too. This is so exciting Link to comment

Guest memonty
They are beautiful birds. I would be happy to have them in my aviary, especially the first 4 Thanks Kaz and the pie The first 4 are really sweet. I just love the way they blow their heads up. I wish I could get the true colours of the violets to show up in the photos. I want to try and breed a violet that has the qualities of the first 4 birds but I have no idea how (Laughing out loud) I know I keep saying this but..... this is so exciting Link to comment

He'll have great pertential but I have better that I am keeping. Unfortunately I am limited to numbers so can only keep the best of the best. Luckily I have quite a few. I will be culling the 69 back to 18 cocks and 30 hens. So will have to be strict with my cull. Some very good birds will need to go. 12 is going to the pet shop on Tuesday and another lot will be picked for another pet shop in two weeks time. Edited April 8, 2007 by Daz Link to comment
