The boys doing the birdroom ( husband Ken and friend Gary ) had dislodged some wire on my aviary front and I lost some birds that escaped. Bad weather so they are gone. I ended up getting only one back that stayed on a neighbours patio sitting on her light fixture. Edited June 9, 2008 by KAZ Link to comment

I know loosing any isn’t good but was any of them special or expensive birds you bought? Raining here again too, not many days clear here of late…good luck with the building, hope no more problems…don’t know about the “MEN” bit maybe they couldn’t concentrate with being licked in the face by those dogs…they look cute. As far as which birds went missing, I wont know till I try and locate some of them or go through all my records. I know I lost a couple of youngsters...pet types. Sorry MB ...your creamino was one of them Well we are after all, only human dear. Yep...its okay. I am getting the birdroom put up finally and thats the main thing. Once all is done there will be no way for things like this to happen. The aim is for vermin proof, leakproof aviaries and birdroom. Hopefully it will be acchieved. We have had some horrid rain and winds and I dont think any more birds will find their way home. The new birdroom should be done by the weekend...I am trying to tile the floor through the week, and make the gates for the entry to the future new flights at the far right of the birdroom. Next list of things to do 1. insulate the walls 2. line the walls 3. fit cupboards, benchtop and and sink ( water already connected and tap ready to go ) 4. Make mesh inner doors to fit over existing doors 5. security screen for window 6. Mesh gates for right hand end to go into future new flights 7. Fit lights and power points. MOVE BIRDS IN........( might move them in sooner ).......breeding cage birds I mean. Edited June 24, 2008 by KAZ Link to comment
