Well the latest is a laptop on the bench. Picked it up for $127.50 on ebay. I can now keep the records at my finger tips and tranfer them to the main computer for storage.

Kaz it's great and running The Budgerigar Program (plug for Jeff) in the aviary is the easiest way to computerise the records.

One thing you have to be carefull about, in keeping computers near birds, is the little mites and things that live in the feather dust, crawl into your computer. I used to keep my old laptop next my budgie cage, a mite crawled in my laptop, behind the screen and then died there :D. So now whenever I use that thing there is a dead mite, right in the middle of the screen. :P

Thanks Sailorwolf. I'll becareful. I use ALI in the aviary and bird room so I hope that helps.

Well I am getting a bit closer to completing the Aviary. The 1000lt Water tank should be delivered this month. I then will need to set up the pumping and filter system for the birds.. Then hope for rain. It hasn't rained this month yet. :ausb:

Still waiting for the approval for the building.. Hopefully that will be approved by the end of the month. I have renewed the Bird Permit for another year with out problems so I hope all will go well.

Well an unexpected inspection from the Council through the week. They just arrive unanouced to inspect the birds for my annual permit.

I like that idea as it catches those not doing the right thing. They don't have a chance to get the sick birds out and "pritty" the set up.

I have been given the highest mark in the shire for cleanliness and health management. I have been told that my aviary rates either in the highest quality or the highest quality aviary in the shire :fear. I have a full 12months permit for the birds and he looks forward to returning next year to see how things are going.

Well I am still not out of it yet. I still need to get the final inspection for the building permit. But I have 18 months to do it. Until then the Aviary is going to be here. :P

Hey Daz,

At what flock population does PRSC require Annual Permits? :book:

[Just so happens, I'm in your local area too]

Oh.... and quite an extraordinary effort on your little set-up there. ;) Nice work.

Hi Tricky we at PRBS are very strict you only need to love budgies to be a member. We have members that don't own budgies but are still interested in them.

We have a meeting on the 27th August. There will be a table show and a discussion on Crested.

You are invited.
