The aviary is looking super. Good luck with the pairing, I haven't starting any yet either, I was hoping to covert the garden shed before setting up any pairs. I got the info for my local council and the placement of my cage is... well breaking the rules. I can have up to 50 birds (wow) but the cage is meant to be 15m away from the neighbors houses and 2 m from the fence line. :dbb1: Let me just say to match those rules I would have to put the cage on top of my house :(Laughing out loud): I've had them there for ?? over a year? something like that and no one has complained, so if i keep the number to around what they are now I think I'll be fine. Oh up date on the council. They have give writen permission for the position of the aviary. Now all I need is for the Certifiers to agree that the construction meets with the building code. I think. :ausb: I'll keep you up to date. The aviary is looking super. Nerwen might be a good time to meet the neighbours. Talk to them about any problems, if any, that way you will know for sure. I had my aviary for 20 months before one neighbour complained. I wish I had spoken to them sooner. :offtopic: Link to comment

I might still have "Issues" with the position of the aviary in regard to a sewer that runs through the back of my yard. The person that can grant the permission does'nt want to make the call on his own and has refered the situation to the Water Board. Cross fingers it goes well with them. Link to comment

The only way the water would come out was if there was a hole in the bottle. Its to do with water levels. It only releases water as the level of the water drops. Link to comment

The weight of the air pushing down is greater than the force the water can exert coming out. The bottle top is higher than the bowl and it stops coming out once the level in the bowl is equal with the bottle top. Feathers. Edited May 31, 2007 by feathers Link to comment

I have four chicks in the nursary, 7 breeding boxes ocupied with chicks in 6 of them. The flights have the birds and there are 3 birds in the culling cage. Every day there is something new or at least something to do. I am hoping to surprise everyone soon. As some know I have melinistic spangles. Well I have now 6 chicks from a Melanistic to melanistic pairing. I am hoping for a DF Melanistic Spangle. A very beautiful bird. In the blue series it have skyblue/cobalt/mauve body colouring and pure white wings. Green series has lt green/green/olive body with pure yellow wings. Melanistic pairs is the same as normal pairings. 25% normals, 50% SF melanistic and 25% DF melanistic. Edited May 31, 2007 by Daz Link to comment
