We have members that don't own budgies but are still interested in them. We have a meeting on the 27th August. There will be a table show and a discussion on Crested. You are invited. Pine Rivers Budgerigar Society Inc - Web Site. < Have a look. Oh Cool Actually, I was wondering about the City/Shire Council and at what stage the government takes in interest in caged birds as an interest or concern for council permits as opposed to having just one or two as pets. Is there a number like 50, 100, 200? I think the most I've ever had was 36, at any one time. regards Patrick Link to comment

What Shire / council are you in? Same as you We're just down near Les Hughes (where the fire was last Sunday arvo). I believe you would have copped the smoke from it. I've plugged that local meeting into my calendar - hopefully I can get to it. Definitely keen to come see the show in September, though. Patrick Edited August 16, 2007 by Tricky Link to comment

So now whenever I use that thing there is a dead mite, right in the middle of the screen. Ummm ... nope. I would say with almost 100% certainty is that you have a "dead pixel" in your LCD. Quite common and has nothing to do with feather mites, dust mites or any other mite ... KathyW. Link to comment

Guest throwback
Finished.... well nearly.. near enough. After so many months the adults are back in the flight. Some are having a bit of trouble... Getting off the ground.. Little fatso's. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26/darrylw/PR032.jpg I still have to sort out the conversion of the stock cages to breeding cages and to tidy up the existing breeding cages but at least the birds are back flying. This is a real tribute to you. Your passion and dedication is definitely unquestionable. A lot of work and a lot of money! I wish every success with your birds and the coming season. Thanks Derek Temperature was the may issue. The roof is also insulated as is the walls. Part of the insulation is for sound restrictions as well. When the aviary is closed down you can hardly hear the Birds. Hi daz,i have a question that you may cry about when you answer....How much did it all cost? Cost to date is around $4500au. But I am changing all the breeding cages to melamine which will probably ad another $500au to the costs. Link to comment
Guest throwback
Hi Daz How ya going? Here are some pics of my setup so far. Under 1/3 of the way there. Thought it may give you some idea's when you change yours. The first picture is of the row of boxes, the ones up the end are the draw type. I don't like them. The box is to big and pulling them in and out shakes everything around and disturbed the birds too much. "> The others are the more typical that are clipped on the front with a slide up door it it a lot better. "> When the box is not needed I made a cover to block the entrance. Or you can reverse the box and hang it from the back. "> Another 12 cabnets to go. That will give me 21 nests. I will stop at that for the time being. I have a few of the all wire cages I may setup the end. But from what I have seen from other people that use them. They are easy to clean at the end, but make a big mess when the birds are in for 3 or 4 months. Edited March 24, 2008 by throwback Link to comment
Guest throwback
Hi Daz Did you ever consider a clear polycarbonate sheet above the flights to let in more natural light or do you think that may have increased the temperature inside more. Thanks Derek Polycarbonate can also make the birds flighty as well. Every time a bird flies over they think it's a predator ready to swoop! I have had it before, okay in breeding room for more light, but I wouldn't use it for flights again. Link to comment
