You will have to watch the weight of them on the front of the cage, in case they tip over. May need to counter balance them with something. PS you may want to edit...the hole is bigger than 12mm. Sorry Kaz, hubby was talking about the dowel hole instead of the other one which was made with a 50mm speed bit. The boxes are very heavy and will have to have extra supports attached to the cabinet that Dave doesn't know that he is making next week! Link to comment

All the breeding cabinets are changed but the nest boxes are still the same. I am altering a few for this yer's breeding season. I've found the 9mm sides bowed a bit last year which cause the backs not to sit in the grooves properly so I am going to a 12mm side to stop this. I'll try it on a few to see how it goes first. The leg should be big enough to stop the ring falling off. .... But if the leg is too big at 8 days then the chick has developed quickly and could develop to something special. i have had chicks that are hard to ring at 8 days..
