Have a search on here, I know Hath put up all the things judges look for in a bird - it was very interesting to read! A small bird, and they look for soo many things!

where to start ??? did you buy your birds from a breeder who shows what are their qualitys as to picking a champ go to shows look to see what is winning normally to breed a good un you would need to start with at least 3 pairs then be quite brutal and sell all but the best chicks breed with these and i would not expect a good un till the third or fourth year

When buying Show birds from a breeder, you will not be offered the best birds. You will be offered what the breeder will consider to be below his standards. If you do want his good ones... be prepared to argue and pay a high price. If he is a top breeder winning shows his top birds will sell between $3000 to $10,000.

To start buy the best that your money can afford and do as Hath has stated. Join a Club and Ask lots of questions. It is the best way to learn.
