  1. Hi guys, I'm really keen to buy a budgie that I can tame and teach it to talk, but don't know which sex is the best for it. I've read that males are much more easy to tame as well as not being as aggressive. I also seen that some people have bad experiences with males and aren't good to tame as they don't speak etc. So are female budgies or male budgies better, and which sex is the best to get overall. Hope you guys can help me out Many thanks
  2. 💚 💛 Want to breed the pied budgies when older but unsure of the yellow and green one's gender - just making sure. 💛 💚
  3. We just got 2 new budgies we are thinking the blue one is a female and that the green one might be a male?? I'm a new owner and I'm having a hard time figuring out their genders. The one we think is female (Blue) has a light brown and dark brown cere we think she is about 8 months old to a yearThe one we think is a Male (Green & yellow) has a pink cere with white rings around the nose which is why we are a bit unsure if he is actually a he
  4. So my female budgie often sleeps like this. I cannot imagine how this could be classified as comfortable. As you can see from the photos she climbes to the ceiling of the cage and spreads her legs attaching one to the side of the cage and one to the ceiling. So bizarre! She doesn't look sick, chirps, flirts with it's mate, eats, flies as usual, cleans it's feathers daily, breathes normally, poops normally. There also is no lump on the tummy to indicate that she is trying but cannot lay eggs. Pray for my budgie, I guess there is nothing wrong with her she is just a weirdo 😂

    Good Day

Hi to all, So yes, I too am new and would love some advice. I have had my male parakeet (Flicker) {color-olive&yellow/black} for 18 months and he is nearly 2 years old. In March of this year I acquired another one, whom I also thought was a male (Flint) due to his color {white-ice blue}, WRONG! As many things started to change in her behavior I had her checked and in fact this sweet little boy is a sweet little girl. Well, they have bonded wonderfully and are so sweet together it's no wonder she began brooding. So after much research and concern for her young health I decided to u
  6. I had setup my breeding pair about 2 weeks ago and everything was looking fine they started mating in 3 day's and the female spends most of the time in the nest box. but recently i have noticed that the female is plucking her vent feathers, she isnt showing any signs of egg binding and is spending 2/3 of the day in the nestbox her poop is huge just like usual and isnt watery or abnormal , she doesnt sit on the floor I have breed budgies before and know what im doing i just find this strange because my last breeding pair layed fertile egg's 5 day's after mating
  7. Hi all, Im wondering if my budgies are english in the pictures below and if there vents need trimming for the breeding season? I have heard about many people doing it but have never tried it before... is it worth it? Would love to hear the success rates between the two (dont know if these images will work) Thanks, Will
