So I've had her for almost two months and I've noticed that the past few days her feathers have been very sparse around her nose and a bit around her eyes. I don't know whether I should be worried or if this is normal. Is it molting? Is she sick? Is it because she's naturally ready to breed? Someone please help! I've never owned a bird before and I'm worried there's something wrong. She's acting fine and eating fine, so I don't know if this is normal or not.

Hi there, I'm a budgie owner, not a breeder. I didn't see that the site was for breeders until I finished registering. Hope it's okay. We had an Australian budgie first a few years ago, and now we have an English budgie called Toast. The reason I came here is that something weird has happened to his bum/tail feathers. They're all splayed out, and there may be a blood stain, though he won't let us look. Any ideas? Should we be concerned, or do we just let it heal. Many thanks.

I had setup my breeding pair about 2 weeks ago and everything was looking fine they started mating in 3 day's and the female spends most of the time in the nest box. but recently i have noticed that the female is plucking her vent feathers, she isnt showing any signs of egg binding and is spending 2/3 of the day in the nestbox her poop is huge just like usual and isnt watery or abnormal , she doesnt sit on the floor I have breed budgies before and know what im doing i just find this strange because my last breeding pair layed fertile egg's 5 day's after mating
