  1. My budgie, Jet, has a black colored leg band on his left leg with the code B13044 printed on it. I've been contacting a lot of breeders about this particular budgie and code combo and I haven't had much luck in receiving an answer yet. I would like to see if the BBC community has any insight or info on this mystery. ALL HELP IS WELCOME
  2. Saved from some attacking minor birds. Has been vet checked.
  3. Hi everyone, sorry if this is in the wrong place or is redundant and has been answered before, but I've just received a young budgie approx. 30 days from a family member that has an aviary and occasionally has a clutch of babies. However, this budgies parents have both died quite unluckily. The mother's death has an unknown cause, but she's been a prolific breeder pretty much laying eggs in a constant stream one clutch after the other as soon as her previous babies have fledged- perhaps exhaustion? The father flew out of the aviary unfortunately. I'm no stranger to budgies, I currently own 3 pets of my own and have hand-raised various birds before but I'm not entirely familiar with feeding budgies. The young budgie clearly can't feed on his own yet as he is completely reluctant to nibble on anything. It's literally just left the nest about a day ago, after the parents died/flew away, he went out of the nest on his own. He's fully feathered and can fly, though I'm not sure how confident he is. It's my understanding that the father feeds the fledged budgie for a few weeks after its left the nest for the first time, does this mean I have to start feeding with a formula mixture to try and wean him? I'm about to leave for the specialised pet store, so if anyone could give me any advice on tips on feeding, how long, what with, how to wean or if I even need to hand-feed at all, let me know! Thanks so much.
  4. Hi! I'm Adaira and a college student at the University of Oregon, in Eugene Oregon United States. My boyfriend of 2.5 years are going through school together and felt like our home was empty. That is when we decided to welcome Nugget! We are very new and have had Nugget for 2 days now, and we think Nugget might be between 2-3 months. Just a baby I am looking to make some friends here and get some help from other new and/or experienced budgie friends. Here is a picture of my boyfriend and I, and another of our little baby. Any guess on the gender? We have no idea yet... but he thinks it's a boy and I think... maybe it could be a girl. Help us out! I will also post this on the "What Sex is my Budgie?" thread. Thank you and Hello!
  5. Please help me identify the mutation of my beautiful, but unusual looking baby budgie. His parents are gorgeous. My male is a blue and yellow dark-eyed clearflight and my female is a gray factor, but that's all I know about her mutation. I'm providing pictures of both Mom and Dad and baby. I know it's difficult to tell in the picture, but baby is a soft, baby yellow, with dark gray spots on his back and his abdomen is slate blue (dark blue grey). He's stunning. Please help me identify his mutation, as he's super unusual and I've never seen another budgie that looks like him before. Thank you so much.🙂
  6. Pretty sure my blue Budgie Kevin is a boy as cere is very blue…. Both are very young… Nellie who I initially thought was a little hen but now I’m thinking male? Her cere is purplish She/he is a little younger than Kev… they get along extremely well and taming so far has been pretty smooth considering (both from a very small over crowded cage at a pet shop with very little human contact ) second photo is first thing of a morning they were all fluffed up after a long preening session…
