I have been looking at keeping birds for a couple of months now ever since i got my first two finches and i decided i wanted some more so got a really big cage and then tried to decide what i wanted to keep in there, i have finally decided on budgies but i have searched and searched and i can't seem to find out if to get two males, two females, or mixed pair.
according to a calculator my cage is big enough for 12 but i am only going to get 2 as they are social and as much as i would like it to bond with me completely i am sure it would be better to have one of its own kind to talk to as well. i am sure with time they will both become bonded with me i guess it will just take a little longer
cage size: W94 x D58 x H152cm
i have already replaced the dowel perches with some wood branches of different thickness, added some natural toys and some swings. need to sort out the base of the cage and get some sand for one side and maybe some soil for the other to allow for some seed growth but in trays so i can take it out to clean, still working on that aspect tho.
