  1. Well done acting so promptly re. the vet. All the best and keep us informed.
  2. Love the chestnut, my favorite color. Does he need a hair cut? Perhaps when it is warmer. He has a lovely face too! Well done.
  3. Home after 5 weeks away I find my poor dog "Rum" has fleas. I now must consider if this poses a problem for "Eagle" as he has recently taken to riding "Rum" bare back as the poor 'ol red heeler shuffles around. Is it possible for a budgie to get fleas? "Rum" has just been to the vet and "Frontline" is nuking the fleas as I write. Could "Frontline" after being administered to a dog be harmful to a budgie while riding said dog bare back? Just in case I will disallow this activity which "Eagle" loves but which "Rum" finds disdainful.
  4. I've known a few Louie's... Some had it as a nickname/short for Louise, and one that was her name , and none of them were women wrestlers Name meanings... Thank you for that, and great web site too!
  5. I think we are all agreed she is a very pretty young thing, how about Louise? Can't say I have heard of a girl called Louie Maesie, mind you i don't watch women's wrestling!
  6. Don't pied's have a spot somewhere? Regardless a lovely little girl. I bet "eagle" would love her!
  7. Terrible news, I am so sorry for you both and those poor, poor birds. Much love from "Eagle" and me.
  8. Carriers seem to be the big problem. Is it possible to "stress' them[ so to speak] in quarantine to bring these hidden diseases out?
  9. Great work, I always love your photo's. Cheers.
  10. Arrg alright! Hope you don't get a plague. In the middle of one you must wash greasey hands after hamburgers etc. or risk waking up after a night on the tiles minus a layer of skin on your hands!!!... By that stage cats are not any use. I dare say as the food source disappears they may very well be in peril themselves, when the mice are HUNGRY, then STARVING!!! But i talk of our plague's on the west coast where they carpet the roads around silo's.

    Miss B.b.c.

No age limit, evening wear only perhaps? Mods. know the photo specs. Elegance will get my vote. Whadda ya reckon???
  12. Looks none too happy about it either, second shot looks like he's calling some thing out... perhaps, PARTY POOPER !!!
  13. Actually that statement is not quite true. Birds and especially parrots can and do self-harm. Other animals inluding humans do it also. Strange as it may see the animal actually get pleasure from this activity. It usually starts of innocently but as time goes by it become a deep physicological issue. Humans are easily treated as we can discuss the issues surrounding the problem. Animals are much harder to treat. I personally have seen parrots who have self-mutilated with deep holes in there breast tissue. It is not a very nice thing to see at all. But why do they do it? Harder to treat, but treatable?
  14. You have had a bad run... hope things start looking up for you real soon.
  15. Could you handle it? I'm hearing ya.
  16. Gimme a kilo of what ya on...
  17. Blue eyed, fair skinned, raven haired, long legged drop dead gorgeous stunner from that angle. Lovely name too. Have a wonderful pregnancy.
  18. Nice work R.I.P. thanks for making me the wiser.
  19. Do not take this personally Richo but this is an example of asking somebody who you think may be able to provide the correct information maybe because he is a bird wholesaler. Apple seeds do not contain ARSENIC they contain CYANIDE. Arsenic has in the past been used for animal feeds in strickly control quantities. It was used routinely in the racehorse industry until ruled illegal. Used in animal feed, particularly in the US as a method of disease prevention and growth stimulation. One example is roxarsone (organoarsenic compound) which was used by 69.8 and 73.9% of the broiler starter and growers between 1995 to 2000. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arsenic You know i love you R.I.P. but wiickpoopia is not acknowledged in academia. Ya gotta give us more... Cyanides are produced by certain bacteria, fungi, and algae and are found in a number of foods and plants. Cyanides are found, although in small amounts, in apple seeds, mango stone, peach stones, and bitter almonds. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanide Cyanide was used in the nazi gas chambers during WWII.
  20. After all the rain we have had it might soon be a good time to grab some babies out of the nest if you had a license. If you want some it should be a good time to put the feelers out...?
  21. I commend all who have beneficially added to our wonderful play ground er, forum; we all work towards making it what it is don't forget. I just spoke to a bird wholesaler who informs me the reason apple seeds are toxic [and how] is because they contain ARSENIC... can't provide a better reference than that I'm afraid.
  22. I would love to see video of a good talker, cheers Kaz.
  23. Yes it certainly sounds like you have an amazing mimic there, well done to you both. "Eagle" is the same age and i too have had him since early december but i can't get him to say hello yet. I repeat all the time and it seems as if he is trying to imitate my speech but... Perhaps success is just around the corner, I hope so. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
