well all i can say is its a concern for the bcv that a breeder would knowingly off load deformed birds and class them as a mutation they are a mutation but not as in a good way they are mutant to say the least what concerns me is mainly the better breeders cull their birds to this store and many return often to view and see what Jo blow culled or through the budgie grape vine heard so and so disposed of his .... quality bird as he had wasted enough time on it so runs down for a quick bargain all the time while these mops are for sale i think its out right disgrace to our bird society another reason i strongly believe in the quick and simple disposal of these dear little things as soon as they become reconized in the nest not only is it a strain on the pair to feed such chicks as well as sustain the healthy chicks but it puts a quick end to a slow life of slowly starving im sorry but their is no reason to prolong the life's of these birds and sadly it is us the breeders whom have gone beyond natures push to achieve such genetic faults in the first place i know for one if i ever produce a bird with this genetic disorder i will not be sparing its life on account that its cruel to end its life and after a lot of time looking and reading about these mops over various years i have concluded that its in fact worse to actually maintain and prolong their living yes their is the few rare cases of breeders actually providing the needed and extra food and supplements support so on that in fact makes the decision to prolong their living actually quiet completable and i commend these people and their love and dedication to these birds ...however its as i stated rare dedication one im myself as a very dedicated bird lover /breeder would not even extend my time too as i know that silent pain these birds live with regardless of how happy and healthy the may look slowly their body stops functioning and results in a slow painful silent death ,.... think about that i know know i am heartless but in honesty keeping them alive is a decision not natural think about that ,.. with out intervention these birds would die with in weeks to a month . as for off loading them to the pet shop im sure that these two sides to this story but only one is being seen in my view no owner of such a store could be that misinformed in fact any good pet store would of known exactly what was being offered you do not put a price on anything until you know what your selling and if you have no knowledge you look it up or ask one of the many bcv breeders you purchase your sale stock from do you not and what can i say about quarantine .... these birds would not of lived out the necessary quarantine times any good pet store has in place my rant done , pet mart in future i suggest you look in one of your many bird mutation book or books on breeding and genetics of budgies so no one pulls wool over your eyes again if it really was a new mutation do you honestly believe you would be the ones to get offered them ... i think not

you sure your not just bored photo shop can do that to a bird lol seriously though nev if your for real maybe its time for a outcross even if notclose related you need a bird with a good even color coverage try breeding your darkgreens to light blues this will help put the coulour back in your birds if you breed light to light alot this can happen over period of time

hello if your budgie has cancer give it carrot celery and beetroot all victimized juice and all you can try adding tomato juice to that but it may not like that mixed in too giving it a slice fresh toms also good idea on the side i just treated my birds with a natural herb treatment worked a treat ive since been researching into different herbs safe for your birds and why here is something i found useful i was giving this as an aid to help me just be warned budgies are small birds and build up toxins fast even good things can be bad eg to much vit a so on so with all treatments i recomend two days on one day off with my birds i did three days on one day off with added citric acid then 5 days probiotics then 3 days on again so on for few weeks only herb they getting right now is a cinnamon stick in their water every second day but if i was you stick to the carrot celery in beet juice every two days and a peace tom every opiset day you need to work with a holistic vet to really know whats safe as im positive even some things listed their are toxic i for one would not feed snt johns wort spelt wrong , i belive its not good much for us or is verivain also spelyt wrong good luck and make sure he get heaps natural sunlight

sorry but budgies dont have red feathers its impossible genetically mate and thoughs birds are only out nest recently no nests should be available to them for twelve months find out what the red is it could have something to do with your birds sickness its not natural or feathers its been put their

Yeah me too! First rounders are goign through thier moult and there are some nnice birds among them, I did better with the second round when some of the blues I gotr fired up. I have to figure out which lines to work with next season. I was going to do my hard cull after 2 seasons and breed 2 lines but I think I might do that this year now. I have pretty much made up my mind on what lines I want to strengthen and then combine. (like )

daniel their are many breeders in western subburbs i have some chicks just out nest i could sell you one you could tame they came out 7 days ago i could spare one chick i guess but would be grey green im in gipsland though you would need to come get it i have had many people get birds from me and very happy with their new friend all with 100 percent rate of being fully tamed some to talking point i handle all chicks in nest from day 5 onwards but can help you if need or want adult or young bird also im selling a few at moment

To anyone being offered cheap birds of all breeds one of the better suppliers of seeds, birds, accessories etc on the peninsula, Safari Birds of Pearcedale who has been around for 30years was cleaned out of his aviary stock by thieves & is now having a closing down sale of all remaining stock, produce etc, after speaking him today he has informed me that he is going to close his doors rather than risk being cleaned out again by thieves. gb

Okay GB, I have contacted someone and she reckons she should be able to get me some clearwings, some gf violet's or mauve's, and possibly some opaline clearwings....How does that sound? I am looking at getting maybe 3 hens and a cock (at least some /clearwings and visuals) she also talked about some yf dilute clearwings.... She likes pretty birds Don't be to harsh, he has the markings of a rec. pied, it is easy to assume! thats great get equal pairs as in one each sex each varierty if you can or get two clearwings two goldenfaces dont worry about the yf dilutes but if you cant get perticulair sex just get two or three of the two veriertys like 3 ayf and 3 clear wings

m this one looks like the violet not the other one Tingle - GF Recessive Pied Cobalt oh well put the hen with the df spangle cock phantom thats a start you really need a cobalt hen or a violet he normal to put with your Apollo hun not yf be best if your going to get a clear wing hen id get a clearwing hen for him in either cobalt sky or violet pair him with it straight away and then when you have done that swap the hens so phantom then has the clear wing hen and apollo the pied hen can you hunt down a clear wing to do that with as you want them to be paired at same time so all young are same ages as for the rest dont worry about them as yet just breed for pretty colours for now i suggest putting the violet clearbody with they grey to get some hopefully violet grays the yf grey/pied pos with the pos /fellow cobalt boy theirs reasons for this ill explain latter to you
