  1. Agree with Twisted... This will give you 100% of an answer!
  2. I'll have to try this one Renee... my cobwebs seem to appear overnight!
  3. How exciting!!! And agree... they are pretty ugly lol. Congrats.
  4. You do realize though that you can get a perfectly hand tamed and very friendly budgie but handling them daily and leaving them with their parents. It upsets me when the chicks are taken from their parents just to get a hand tamed baby... you can lose them if you don't know what you are doing and you can never really re-create what the parents give them in their first weeks of life.
  5. Not sure about that paint as I'm not familiar with it, but I do know you can use rustoleum. There is one that is safe for children etc... and has been used to re-coat small animal cages before. The trick is to make sure you get off all the peeling paint so the new paint will stick. It is also recommended you let it cure for 2 weeks before using it for your animals.
  6. I'd get some carpet off cuts and stick that down... Their poo is usually pretty solid and easily removed and if you attach it with velcro you can remove for cleaning. You could also use some of that corrugated cardboard and replace as needed. Looks brilliant by the way!
  7. Broken spine???? Where are you reading this??? He said he had the broken SKIN... Ratzy... How old is Fang? It can take a long time to build up strength after being unwell, and especially for flying. I'd keep him inside and keep feeding him up. I'd assume he'll eventually get the strength to fly. Is there any damage to his wings?
  8. I'm hoping you got this budgie to the vet before it was too late. How's he going?
  9. Did you use photobucket as per the instructions? Then you put each IMG code for each photo...
  10. If he has been sick and getting worse for a week I'd personally be getting him to the nearest Avian Vet.
  11. Plant bird seed Just be prepared for it to be trashed. It wont take long once they discover it. If you have a few trays on the go you can swap them around when needed. Also not sure if you meant you'd plant in the tray at the bottom where the birds poo, but I'd have smaller little tray's or containers for the seeds. The bottom tray would need to be cleaned often and I wouldn't want my 'food tray' covered in lots of poo (although they often poo in their seed too)
  12. Looks like it stuck it's foot in a power socket, or spent too much time under those blow waving hats That being said... pretty impressive if that's what you breed for.
  13. Above 9 months??? They need to be over 12 months, not 9 months. They are too young to be breeding. Remove them from the breeding cage and try them again in 3 months.
  14. Not all that weird... s/he is trying to mate with the 'friend' (reflection) in the mirror. Mirrors are bad news and I'd remove it straight away. Especially if you are trying to tame them as they'll be more inclined to bond to their imaginary friend and can even get quite aggressive.
  15. Try leaving the radio/tv on when you are not around. Noise may help somewhat. You can also add toys but nothing too shiny or with mirrors as he'll bond with the reflection instead of you. Keep his cage in a busy area, not tucked away in a quiet room. And give him a bit more time... I'm sure he will come around. Congrats and welcome too!
  16. It's great to hear those sort of places are still around!
  17. Can't see this working long term... will rot through in no time, even with the 'water proof paint'. A concrete slab would be your best bet. Is this an option? My aviary used to be on paver's but we had issues with mice, so ended up concreting it. Best decision ever!
  18. What a pain! I buy on ebay a lot. I always check through their general feedback for a few months, then click on their negative/neutral feedback.
  19. Awww... So glad to hear it went so well. They look so cute together!
  20. Awesome... time does fly doesn't it! Good luck and be sure to update us on how it goes.
  21. Great to hear he is feeling better. As to the keel bone, it will feel prominent and 'sharp' if he is underweight. You'll definitely notice it.
  22. What sized platforms are you after. I *think* I have some bits and pieces off old cages which I'm happy for you to have. Let me know what you need and I'll try and find what I have.
  23. I'm thinking of getting a Galaxy too Nerwen, but the first one. I can get it on a good plan whereas because the galaxy S 2 is newer it will cost me more.
  24. I have mealworms for my reptiles and tried them with my budgies. They were terrified ! They tried to peck them and then **** themselves when they moved. But agree they are good for them.
