  2. Hey guys n girls as above ^^^^^ and want to give to a new home Quote "The bird doesn't seem to be afraid of us, it started feeding straight away after I put it into the cage, so I think it's been handled by people before." It's being kept in there cats cage atm.. and no the cat is inside lol.... PM me thanks..
  3. Hello again BBC Another update from monday (been busy) Psittacosis the vet says even though Positive diagnosis can be difficult, if it's deep in the lining of the crop a scraping can be done but he doesn't like to do it as that can get infected... Spike was on his meds for 5 full days twice a day much to his dislike He seems very good now but I think he's starting to do it again and more often each day Spike pooped on my hand just a few hours ago and it was a very dark green with white center....
  4. Just found this list http://www.bssainc.org.au/South%20Australi...n%20Vet%27s.htm
  5. Hi Elly the Australian link is no longer valid
  6. Hi Ratzy, sorry what I meant was B.V.Sc. did that cover avian or was there more qualifications like B.V.A.Sc. in their title? they let your bird out while there was a cat there Idiots Hi gang another update.....Got Spike back about noon Yayyy!!! I have to give him 0.05ml of Nilstat oral capsules (diluted to 250000iu/ml) by mouth twice daily + 0.05ml of Flagyl Syrup also twice daily (this will be fun never done it before) and take him back on Monday morning...
  7. Thanks Splat I hope he will be okay too, I didn't hear anything this afternoon so all sounds good...Dad yeah he thinks it's his birthday today (it was in March)..... The girl at the desk said he is when I rang, I picked up one of his business cards on the way out and it says B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of veterinary sciences) is what it means to me don't know if avian is different?
  8. Thanks also GenericBlue not the sort of news I need right now  I hope he's all right till the morning, got a appointment 9.45.... Still waiting for the video to finish transferring to Photo Bucket.... good to hear vet will be able to give you right treatment and possibly save your baby if its not to far im not sure theirs anything you can do for him till morning just keep him out of draft cold and talk to him alot  your doing right thing going first thing Thanks again for the replys, what do you think of the video? I have been doing as you said but he's sleeping now, been eating and drinking still  cannker can make them drink more than normal kaz isright could be number of things but vet will tell nothing more you can do but go tomorrow Hi guys an update..... Been to the Vet and got Spike checked out and he's not sure what the problem is yet!! A crop sample was taken and vet did the microscope bit and it's not Canker, and Spike has a good mix of bacteria which he said is good. He was pleased with Spikes general condition and said a budgie will vomit 3-4 times a day but Spike is doing it most of the time!!! The fresh poops looked good unlike the one I seen earlier on my hand I told the vet about which was clear with just little bit of white in the middle and that told him his kidneys where okay but no food had gone through... Next he was going to give a injection which would empty his crop quickly and re-test with the microscope, a 2 day stay in hospital has been recommended and he will phone me tomorrow..... glad you followed through i hope hes okay vet will find problem sounds like hes going to keep a watchful eye to veiw his symptoms also Another update  The vet rang late morning just like he said and he's had to give Spike some thing to stop him from vomiting, then a antibiotic with a anti-parasitic......He is doing much better and the vet hopes it's now the treatment that's stopping him from being sick and not the earlier stuff for the vomiting. He will ring later this afternoon if Spike condition changes.....
