  1. Yes ours is usually on 20 or 22 as well, its only evaporative so doesn't really cool the place down too much but it atleast does something. I think you will be quite okay. Just make sure you don't have the cage in direct sunlight and also away from any draughts in cold weather.
  2. That is such a beautiful story, I hope she comes through okay
  3. now I understand why they like shiny things and bright colours. No wonder we look so scary to them.
  4. I wouldn't put the fan on, as you say your budgie may fly into it. If you have the air con on I don't think the temperature would be a problem. In summer my budgies are in the house all day without air con and they cope. They only get the air con when I get home from work. You could mist your budgie down with a little spray of water of it doesn't bother him/her.

    New Here

    ooohhh he is so gorgeous!!
  6. It will be okay in the beginning but once the younger male gets older he may start competing with the other male for the female, I've had that problem in the past. Would you have room for another young female so you have an even match of males and females.
  7. I don't know if mine do anything out of the ordinary, but I find them more interesting to watch than tv!! They are just such funny little characters. So happy and full of life.
  8. I love the play swing, that is so awesome
  9. I have a budgie that does exactly the same thing, I put a post on here a little while ago to try to find out what he was doing as well. Here is a link to my post -http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....mp;#entry302680
  10. Do you have budgies that fly free in your home? And if so is there any issues with the rats and the budgies being out at the same time?
  11. Two males will fight over a female, I've had that problem just recently and it was very distressing to see, they were brutal with each other, I certainly wouln't recommend it. All budgies have different personalities and you may be lucky to get two males and a female that get on fine but I know I wouldn't chance it again.
  12. very cute, they look happy together
  13. Saw this on Pet Rescue, thought I would post a link in case someone can help the little fella http://www.petrescue.com.au/view/46642
  14. Yes....please don't stop showing us your photos, I think you take the most wonderful photos
  15. She will just be settling in, once she is comfortable she will come out of her shell. I leave the radio on for my budgies too.
  16. I have a budgie that frequently makes that noise too, maybe not to the extent that Joey does. I would like to know what he was trying to tell me too :-) Funny little fella. I don't know what you can do about it though.
  17. Sounds like you are doing a great job, takes a lot of time and patience but you seem to be on the right track. Can't really help with your last question but maybe someone else will have some advice.
  18. I don' think they will mind, *libby* sold to me and my budgies are pets like your Muppet, I am not a breeder either and my budgies live inside. Not everyone here breeds budgies.
  19. I can highly recommend *libby* as well, I have bought 2 budgies off her over the last 12 months and they are the most wonderful budgies, you won't have a problem finding a good bird from her
  20. They are the cutest pictures, how adorable is Peanut!

    Help!

At the start of sunshine*'s post you will see the word "Link", if you click on that it will play the video Can't say I have heard my budgies make that noise before
  22. You can also use natural tree branches as perches, I do for mine and they love chewing off the bark, and it's easy to replace them once the bark has been chewed off. You just need to make sure you are using a type that is safe for budgies.
  23. No I don't, maybe she is just playing?
  24. Amazing how they are instant best friends. What will happen to them long term? Will you rehome them?
  25. Have you tried corn? My budgies don't seem to want to eat many types of vegies either but they find corn irresistible.
