Hey everyone. I am wanting to know if there are any baby bugies (hand raised would be good, but not a neccessity) in the brisbane area or surrounding north or south suburbs? I have been searching through the for sale forums and cant seem to find any birds for sale in QLD, so if anyone knows or has birds for sale can u please get in touch with me. They can be male or female too. Thankyou

You seem to have maxed out your cages already and have undiagnosed illnesses and cages in the open. Maybe you should stop buying for awhile until you have it set up better, with more info and knowledge that helps the birds you have already.

I think you should not buy anymore budgies until you buy your first aviary. You cannot keep too many in those cages of yours, so i think you should start looking for a cheap second hand aviary that you can buy and set up for your birds. For example, yesterday i sold this aviary
I sold it for just $150.
You could buy something like that it would be wonderful for you, allowing you to have more birds in a healthier environment.
I am sure that there are aviaries like that one being sold online in the brisbane area. Why do you not look at putting your money to something like that, then get some extra birds when the facilities you have are more desirable?

ARGH!!! I saw that avairy, I got so excited until I realised it was sold . That would have been perfect for me yes. Owell I will find one . I know you's are right about not buying any birds that's why I have only brought one bird to kind of replace the last one that died. But apart from that, they are all healthy now. It's just sometimes I see budgies when I am out, or I see a 'budgies for sale' sign (I can't help but look) or I go to my sisters place in Kingaroy and there are some beautiful budgies in a pet shop there and I get soo excited and want to buy them, I just love budgies. Don't get me wrong I love the ones I have, and I want them healthy and to do what's best for them, but I just tend to get a little carried away sometimes because I love budgies so much

P.s then ofcourse there's what I did today, posted an add looking for more birds. Or I go have a look at the birds my breeders have and I always end up buying some, I get very carried away which I know can be a bad thing. But lately I havent been going to my breeder which is a good start haha, and today I brought my new bird from the markets (My intention of going there was finding a pink budgie which my aunty saw. It wasnt a pink budgie, it was a small parrot similar to a budgie hahaha). But a couple of months ago I just kept buying birds all the time, now I have only brought one after about 2-3 months (which is good for me) and it will definatly be the last until I get my avairy. Anyway I am babbling, sorry everyone hehe.

There is no such thing as a pink budgie. It would have been a rosa bourke or bourke parrot.
Try to save the budgie buying money and put it to use to make things better for the ones you have. If you deliberately dont go looking you will have enough money for an aviary in no time flat.

Yes that's exactly what the man said to me when I went to his bird stall, 'it would have been a rosa bourke' I just laughed haha. Speaking of colours what's the most unusual colour a budgie can have? I've seen a white and light brown one before, it was very kewl.

Well I don't know the statistics, but I'd say a "halfsider" is pretty unusual

I think what you are describing is what is called a lacewing. They are white (or yellow) with brown wing markings (and a red eye)
I saw a YF half side yesterday, that was quite amazing.
Blackface is non-existant in Australia, only in the Netherlands. That is a mutation that can be bred, but only new.
Half-siders are where birds do not develop correctly, and they are blue one side and greent he other side. Kind of like two-face in the Batman movies. A half-sider cannot pass this onto offspring. It is not a genetic trait that can be inherited.

No it wasn't a lacewing. It was white all over except for a patch of light brown on its tummy down to its feet. Soo unusual. But yes half-siders are very unusual but so kewl.

Cinnamon grey green pied. Not brown on stomach but grey green in varying shades due top being pied. The brown markings of cinnamon are to be found on wings, spots and striations on head markings. What you see as brown is grey green mixed with the base colour but not brown on body. Not brown...grey green. Colour is modified by the cinnamon gene but not brown on stomach.

cinnamon is not possible on the body colour, I agree with Kaz and GB. Sorry Squeak_Crumble, you are confusing greygreen with cinnamon.
