We record posting visitors and registered members IP addresses so we can ensure security of accounts and for use in other internal moderation and security operations. Our sites registration form requires visitors to give us contact information, such as their name and e-mail address. Budgie Breeders Inc. This is a privately owned website but is available to the public. We reserve the right to refuse entrance to any person or group of people at our discretion and without issuing a reason. Board Administrators and Global Moderators will have input into matters if they arise regarding registrations. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Children’s Information. This site collects online contact information from all members who join. We have language filters in place and we keep the message areas as child-friendly as possible. Acceptance of Terms of Use 1. Each time you use or gain access to this internet website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and Conditions which you agreed to, when you chose to join the Budgerigar Community Forums on the registration page (if you are a member). In addition, if you are using a particular service on or through this web site, you will be subject to any rules or guidelines applicable to those services and they shall be incorporated by reference into these Terms of Use. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Your Responsibilities and Registration Obligations. In order to use this Online Community to its full extent, you must register and agree to provide truthful information when requested by staff. To register, you must clearly agree to our Terms of Use and Conditions and if your account has been approved, you are then bound when using this site by those Terms and Conditions listed within this document. They may be modified by us from time to time and available here and on the registration page. Any multiple registrations( by one person )and observed by staff, will result in the additional registrations being deleted. Only one registration / membership per person is allowed. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Messages you make available through this board. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board. Any message posted by any member automatically becomes property of our board, therefore if a particular member leaves our board or is removed/banned it will be the board’s staff decision to retain or delete the member’s posts and topics. Board staff have right to decline the removal of the member’s posts and/or topics if contacted by that particular member requesting to do so. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Internet Text Shortcuts. (What is meant by this: Enuf, luv, thanx, woz, plz, phun and so on.) There are many, many people of all ages and languages that frequently visit this forum. English is hard enough for some people when it is their native language. There are people that post here that English is a second or even third language. Not everyone knows what shortcuts mean. It is like slang - if you're not from that area you don't understand what is being said. We want this forum to be as friendly, fun, and informative for everyone as we can make it, and one way we do that is to not allow text shortcuts in your posts. It's not hard to type your responses using proper English. However, we do allow a select few of the very commonly known internet shortcuts which are listed right here: LOL (Laughing Out Loud), brb (be right back) and OMG (Oh My God). Please try to respect this rule, and doing so will make this forum better for all! ----------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Registration and Password. You are responsible to maintain the security of your password/forum account and shall be responsible for all uses via your registration and/or login, whether authorized or unauthorized by you. You agree to immediately notify us (board staff) of any unauthorized use of your registration, user account or password. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Copyright Infringement. If you believe that your property posted in any forum by any member on this board has been used in any way that would be considered copyright infringement, contact our Root Board Administrator who will then remove the content ASAP. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Obeying Board Staff. If a member of the board staff does ask you do perform a task for what ever reason on the boards, you are to comply with the request. If no appropriate action is taken within a reasonable amount of time, staff have the right to warn, suspend, remove posting rights and even ban members in the worst cases. It must be stressed that this does not happen frequently at all, but it will be only used as a last resort if absolutely needed. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 8. “Double Posting” For those that do not know what “Double Posting” is, it will be explained right here. “Double Posting” means a member posts a message in a thread, then directly after that post, that same member posts again “replying” to their own post. The forums will auto merge such posts, but please make an effort not to double post. – Thank you. #-----------------------------------------------------------------# 9. Posting images on the board. Picture/image sizes MUST be 640 by 480 pixels or under. It is understood that not all sizes of images can be resized exactly, but if this is the case, you must attempt to get the pixel dimensions down to as close to 640 by 480 as possible. Sizes deemed to large by Administrators, Global Moderators and Forum Moderators may be removed from posts. This is done to ensure the site is quick loading for 56k modem users. #-----------------------------------------------------------------# 10. Signatures and Avatars on all member accounts. (Not including Administrators and Global Moderators). Ensure that your signature and / or avatar coincides with site rules: Administrators and Global Moderators are exempt from such restrictions due to the need to advertise and display information to alert forum members. Avatar image maximum size: 64x64 pixels (Max 30 kb) Signature image maximum size: 400 (wide) x 200 (high) pixels Signature Text Restrictions: Maximum of 6 lines of small text (no gaps between lines) or 1 line of large text. The following image formats are allowed in signatures and avatars: gif, jpeg, jpg, swf. We do allow members to upload avatars if absolutely necessary of 64x64px and 10K in size, but we would prefer you to link your images from another server. If your avatar and / or signature contains images over this limit, they may be removed without warning by a forum staff member. Our forum restricts members to certain sizes of avatars, but not signatures as of yet. If a PM or email is sent to you regarding this matter, simply change or resize your images so that they are within the rules, to avoid further action being taken by staff against your account. We want to and try to be a 56K dialup modem friendly website as not everyone can acquire broadband. If you respect others they will respect you. We also allow flash signatures if members desire, but again must they must coincide with the above rules! However, any animated content in signatures MUST NOT contain any audio. Board Staff. Listed below are all the staff that are active on the Budgerigar Community Forums and who to contact if needed. Board Administrators – Overall control of board settings, members, posts, images and generally all aspects of the board and its forums. Contact an administrator to report misconduct of members and other staff, to sort out member account errors, remove posted content, rectify board errors or report registration errors and problems. Global Moderators – Have moderation control over all forums on the board and some control of members accounts. Contact a Global Moderator to have a post/topic moved, removed, changed, closed or to alert of minor fellow member misconduct. (Note on reporting forum posts: If needed, please click “Report” on the post that you have concerns with to alert all moderator staff. Please do not chat through this feature.) Forum Moderators – Standard members which have been selected to assist Administrators and Global Moderators with managing specific forums and the posts/members within them. (If you need a post changed in any way, please look for a forum moderator first. This is shown on the front of the forum itself, example: (Forum Name): Your Flock (Forum Description): Tell about your flock of budgies and introduce yourself in here! (Forum Moderators): Forum Led by: adam, Rainbow, nerwen ) If no forum moderator is available, please contact a Global Moderator. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Board Staff Recruitment From time to time, Board Administrators will advertise forum staff positions in the “Staff Recruitment” forum. If you apply and are chosen, it will be your chance to assist in managing the Online Community Forums under the Board Administrator’s instructions.
