Hi, so far it seems like only the USA websites do them. BUT if you have PayPal, or a credit card, they will ship to UK, and the extra postage really isnt that much :D

How do you propose getting the bird to wear one? BIG parrots are easy enough, but for budgies it'd be impossible, and they'd work their way out of it quicker then you could put it back on!

Their poops are pretty easy to clean too. Wait until they dry and a dustpan and brush cleans them easily.

You have to gradually acclimate them to the flight suit, just like you would the larger birds. I had one for my cockatiel (until he outgrew it) and because he was a baby he took to it fairly well. My older 'tiel would probably kill me if I tried putting one on him.

Most people don't buy the smaller ones for the purpose of keeping poop off of things. It's usually because those are the only safe way to take your budgie outside without its cage (provided you've got the right size suit and the leash attachment and have done everything correctly). Harnesses aren't safe for birds as tiny as budgies as they could slip right out.

Like chirpy said, I think your best bet is ordering online and paying for the shipping. Maybe try Ebay?

Guys, imagine a pair of overalls with the legs cut off, that's the closest approximation i can come up with.

I have no idea how you put it on the bird. My great grandma had a flight suit for her budgie, she said it was tight and loose in wierd places, it made the bird look like a potato in a sack, and he always wiggled out of it.

I don't think they're to take them flying. ;) It's just a restraint so they can't fly off.

The purpose of the flight suit is so that you can take your bird outdoors with you. You wouldn't let them fly on the lead. It is for safety, to keep them with you. A lot of people take their birds (bigger ones at least) out and about with them for socialization and to get them used to different things. I've seen birds go into pet stores with their owners and pick out new toys, LOL. Also good for use at the vet's if your bird is socialized and you don't want to keep them in a cage or carrier while you are there. If I thought they'd tolerate one, I'd get one and take a bird or two out with me, but I think at two years old they probably wouldn't like me much if I tried to get one on them. I think I'd have to trim them to take them out as well for safety's sake, and I don't necessarily want to do that.

If you would prefer something other than a flight suit, here is an option... ;)

Of course they have no budgie costumes, but I guess budgie owners actually care for their birds, and wouldn't force them to wear restrictive uncomfortable garments for our own entertainment...

But I suppose if you want them to stay warm then how about a jumper...

:) BOTH REASONS

they act like a Nappy and stop poops going all over the place and they also have a little lead that you clip on to it somehow so you can use it as a harness.. a bit like a dog leash :)
