I just got two male budgies, and I want to know what colors they are. I think the green male budgie is a greywing, he has pale green body color and maybe yellowface I? and I think the yellow male is ressecive pide, yellow. (but he has pale green tinge/patches on his body, and purple cere and white cheeks.) and black eyes. not a photo from me, I can try to take a better picture later. sóli og máni by Elma_Ben, on Flickr Link to comment

There are pictures on here with some double factor spangles with full dilute coloured fronts, but often they only have some colour like a collar under the neckline. If his cere is still purple, pink it could indicate double factor pied or even fallow if his eyes are red. Cheers Jenny Edited March 12, 2013 by hilly Link to comment

How old is he? If he is still young his colour won't be as bright as that of an adult. And also his iris ring won't be fully developed. He looks like he is a dominant pied in cinnamon or dilute or even both, he is also opaline by the look of it. He could be double factor as Nadene said but you won't know until you get some breeding results from him. Link to comment

The owner said the yellow is over/about 1 year old. The green one is 2 years old. I dont know what to pair him with, but the chicks will be all like him, right? yellow pieds? When I paired my old dominant pied male with white/blue ressecive pied female I only got dominant pieds, like him, yellow and green and almost all yellow. Link to comment

If he is put with a blue and he happens to be split for blue you can get blue pieds and blue in the other colours as well. A lot of these will be combinations of the colours. Your other bird is a light green greywing, though he doesn't seem to have much in the way of an iris ring in that photo anyway. cheers Jenny Link to comment

Cobalt female and dominant pied male? Classic green opaline male and olive green spangle female? Skyblue spangle female and olive green spangle male? dark green female and dominand pied male? pied (think recessive) opaline female, and dilute opaline male? and finally DF spangle male and normal green female?
