Genetics confusing but very interesting Red eyes or plum eyes ? plum eyes at hatching and for a few days afterwards indicate cinnamon. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=23215 Edited April 3, 2012 by **KAZ** Link to comment

Her lack of markings could be due to being cinnamon and opaline So you think she DOES look opaline, Kaz? Then that cinnamon opaline chick isn't necessarily a girl. Link to comment

Yes we were told what to look for once to determine this and it has to do with the striations on the markings on her head. Link to comment

It's just a shame the the photos don't do them justice. My mum who doesn't have any pets has put her hand up for the little boy and already got herself a cage. Link to comment

The cock must be split for opaline cinnamon and ino Edited April 6, 2012 by Neville Link to comment

I think I can see on her photo what you mean by that, and I thought her head markings looked opaline, too. I just wasn't sure if that was enough to go on. And the newer photo of the two cinnamon chicks on the perch looks like they are both boys, so that would confirm that the mom is opaline. Edited April 7, 2012 by Finnie Link to comment
