This morning, my female budgie started grabbing shredded paper from the bottom of her cage and started to move them and look around the cage with the paper in her peck. Also she is the only budgie I have. My question is, is this her way she is getting ready to lay eggs, or is this her way of trying to find some entertainment? Link to comment

Having large seed dishes that can be seen as a nest may be a trigger as well as having snugglehuts etc. Link to comment

BUT a part of their inbuilt instincts are when daylight hours are long and food is plentiful its time to make babies. BUT she is alone and all she has done is play with paper.
