It stops him from doing whatever he is doing. Is this a reason for me to worry? Do budgies get used to the sound of an opening/closing cage? Link to comment

Strange cage. Strange person looking at him with big scary eyes. He'll get used to the noise. Especially the first week or so, they're uncertain about what's going on and whether they should be concerned or not. Just talk to him, and take it easy. Leave the radio, tv or music on during the day as well. Continuous background noise makes them feel safer. No noise means a predator is around. Keep this filed, and read through this on taming. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/index.php?action=artikel&cat=3&id=155&artlang=en Link to comment

It does help. I've had my first pair about 2 weeks now. Lots of changes in that time, I no more than got them, and we packed up and headed to the Smokeys for vacation. But they are calming down now. Today I stirred things up by adding 2 more. Everyone (but the canary) is giving me the evil eye! There's always a radio or TV going for sound. I learned that with my canary. Link to comment
