That picture doesn't show the colour at all :( . The pony thing was a joke, I'm allergic to them so.... I don't have a mobile phone, ipod or anything because my money is being all saved up for my budgies. Here are some better pics.

Hey ratzy

I caught some skyblue budgies up today and none of them had a tail the colours yours has...mine were a lot darker and brighter. Your hen seems split for recessive and I wonder if that has anything to do with her tail colour ? I also have some darkly marked ( on wings ) skyblue greywings so I will take a closer look at them too tomorrow and see what their tails look like. :)

I agree with Kaz, the tail isn't normal. It is definetley green. Most of my sky blues have navy tails I think?

well you can all believe its something spesh

me i just think its a sky blue budgie

the colour on budgies differentiates quiet alot from bird to bird

and pets colors are different to show kaz as we strive for deep dark clear solid colour structure well i do anyways

my blue birds have aqua green on edging of their tails(my skys ) so

well ratzy have fun with it all

unless you can put it next to five other skyblue birds of same no dark factor and proper lighting (day light no artificial lights at all ) and so on so on

im afraid im jumping ship on this as i think its just normal

sorry guys

She looks so nice! You're right, her tail does look a bit green, but the first picture doesn't really show it. :)

Don't forget people what you see is not the real thing in a photo. Ratzy did you use a flash? Looks like you did. This will alter the colour since colour produced in parrot feathers is in part cause by constructive interference by the electromagnectic spectrum.

Yes, I did use a flash. I'll try to get a picture without it.

There were three different birds there with the green tail.

SAM_0930.jpg

TBC light green cock.

SAM_0929.jpg

Opaline light green cock.

SAM_0931.jpg

Sky blue hen.

Well, just throwing in my 2 cents, Ratzy. I think it's hard to get colors to show up true in photos. Your new hen's tail looks greener in this photo than in the later photos, but it still looks kind of aqua. Same with the two other birds in the shop, kind of aqua. But you are the one with it in real life, and you are the one who sees Chubba Chubs every day. You will be the best judge of whether the new hen's tail looks like Chub's tail. The rest of us can wait until quarantine is over, and then maybe you could get a photo of both of them side by side. (Even then, no guarantees that it will show up on here properly.)

By the way, does she have a name yet?

:D
