Well I haven't given an update on Len in a while so I figured I would. I went back to the vet today because he (vet assured me he is a he) hasn't been putting on any weight. so I got taught how to do a crop feed. It was a little tricky but I go there eventually. Len is still on some antibiotics that the vet gave me but I am hopeing that he will begin to improve sooner rather than later.

Oh And they said that according to all their tests that they did it is liver disease... they said that was common in ino/lacewing birds. I asked if it was likely that he would improve and if the liver could recover like in humans and they said it could but it still would be weak.

They want me to move to a pelleted diet...

They also said to make sure he stays warm for the time being, which I've been trying to do. I am just wondering what I could do to set up a hospital cage with a stronger light than a normal desk lamp... any idea's?

I use a cage with three sides covered and I hook a CAR TROUBLE LIGHT ( 40 watt globe ) onto the front if the cage. Have one of kens Princess Parrots in one right now...works a treat. :)

You know Kaz, I have one of those, and I have never ever thought of using it. How dumb am I? In fact, I might have 2. Very silly indeed.

Glad Len is still hanging in there. I wouldn't change his diet at all until he is eating consistently on his own it is hard enough to get a budgie to eat when sick let a lone changing their diet which puts more stress on them that is just my opinion. I continue to pray that Len pulls through.

Oh, can you tell us how they know it is liver disease? Thanks :)
