What do you reckon I'll get from this gorgeous couple?

I think at least 4 of the eggs are fertile:

I reckon  (you will get some gorgeous babies)

Opalines will be females

Normals

and if the male is split for recessive pied you can get recessive pied babies.

All blue babies

Wow. I love the male. I have a female with the same mutation and colourings but her head isn't as nicely shaped as your guys. Can't wait to see the bubs!

We have our first hatchling!

Funny thing about motherhood. This hen is a viscous so & so & yesterday when I took the box down, she climbed out (see her tail?) and sat on the side and nibbled my hand!! A month ago she would have ripped the skin off!

Photo taken yesterday 3rd November:

I have absolutely no idea yet on the genetics, but my they are two absolutely gorgeous birds. Any babies they have would have to be stunners! Congrats on the first hatchling :(

Yes ino and recessive (in areas) get it as well, but the fact that we know the farther is an opaline and the wings are completly black ( no patches that could mean a pied) makes be believe they are opaline.

Do you see the tiny black dots on the very top of the head near the cere of the oldest? Normal coloured babies get that all over they bodies as the start of down feather showing.

All babies are well fed and growing! ;)

I believe that the eldest baby is a violet as it's pins certainly don't look blue.

One of the babies died.

All 3 are definately purple birds. The picture shows them as cobalt, they are not cobalt!

Checked them today as I'm worried with the extreme heat we've been having. They are all okay.

Their colour is darkening so they might not be violet after all.
