She started to dig in the box on Sunday and I cuaght them mating Tuesday morning. So they should have some eggs appearing soon. Also on Saterday I removed Ringo since she has been a bossy boots and flirting a bit to strongly with her father. I might get told off but I thought I'ld introduce Kree to her in another box. Things have not being so well with this pair. Ringo is still acting her true bully self and doesn't even want to know Kree and I think he might be afraid of her :fear Nothing major has happened. I thought maybe a box with the cage might give them the idea to get along but althought Ringo as being in it and digged to her hearts content, Kree still isn't interested in flirting with her I realised this is the first time I've paired up some birds that havn't had a bond to start with, so it's a different feeling. But Kree has at least now tryed carrot, sprouts and Millet since being with Ringo, which is at least a plus. So I'll try and get some pictures up for you soon, maybe this afternoon. Oh and Pie swung right back to Freckle the day I took Ringo away :(Laughing out loud): Link to comment

Marine is still singing away strongly As always. Kree joined in with him a bit yesterday but still wants to pretend the bully cage mate doesn't exsist. It's nothing major she will just fly to the perch he is one and case him to jump to the ground, she doesn't case him all around the cage all the time and no actal contact has been made with beak and feathers. I know Ringo is still in her cicle since I bothered her at just the wrong time yesterday afternoon when I got home which cuased her to lay an egg out of the box. Not that I would have let her keep that one since I know it's empty. She was laying eggs in Tweetaville which was the reason I pulled her out in the first place. At least I know she knows what a box is for On tot he pictures: Ringo and Kree: Kree and the mess Ringo made of the shavings: Ringo: Marine and Tootie: Flirting: Edited September 4, 2006 by Nerwen Link to comment

Our babies will be growing up at same time Belle will be having egg today... hopefully. I keep saying "today is the day"... but i looked at her vent this morning, and its very big, and throbbing (as in ready for egg to come out).. Kirby is 16 months old, and Belle is 12 months old. She had a HUGE poop lastnight (was 1" wide) so i was surprised to see no egg in box this morning Shes been fet lots of calcium (cuttlebone, and LOVESSSS HER IODONE BLOCK)... gets grass, lettuce, carrots daily since i got her about a year ago, and both Kirby and Belle are in prime condition. So needless to say im very excited to have our babies being around same growth period. And they will be about same colours (im expecting yellow face blyes, and normal blues).. Im excited, and were wishing the best of luck to you Kirby Link to comment

Dingo you are right How long do you think someone should leave a pair together before deciding it isn't going to work?? Kree has started to warble along with Marine but do so mostly when Ringo is hiding in the box and she still chases him off the perches. Doesn't even want to listen to his wonderful singing So two week? or longer. Link to comment

It should be clear since she still hates Kree but at least she knows what to do unlike her mother. Not sure if I should leave it there for her to brood or not. But it's staying for now. About 5 mins later Tootie hopped out of the box so I ducked over to check and her first little Eggie appeared Pen's close by so I marked it, ( i did the same to Ringo's too) This time i thought I would put their itial on the egg too (even though I'm using different colours) and just as I wrote the "t" I relised this egg now has IT on it :(Laughing out loud): Well Tootie was not please with me working so fast she was in the box glaring up at me and I had to replace it infront of her. But she welcomed it back with ease. So Now like Kirby I'm counting downs the days 22nd of september is the 'H' day ( H for hatch ) Just got piccies: sorry the ones of Ringo/egg are fuzzy but to get the camera in place I had to stand on tippy toes and couldn't see what it was focusing on. Ringo: and her egg: I think I'll leave it for 5-6 day and candle it before either removing or Freaking! Tootie: and egg: Oh and I have a name idea but I'm not going to state until a chick appears. I cant wait to watch them grow old together And my egg looks EXACTLY like Tooties (same colour size e.t.c.) and that makes me happy becuase hers will be fertile, and hopefully that means Belles are too as i saw them mate sucessfully! Ariels eggs were brownish (all infertile) so im glad even the eggs look the same (Laughing out loud) Keep us posted mate! Kirb Edited September 4, 2006 by Kirby Link to comment

Not sure if having an egg means Ringo will ignore Kree even more or not at the moment. Daz I knew about the rain so I was jumping for joy for two reasons last week, one simply becuase it was raining and two before I had just set these guys up. Rain to the wild birds means fresh seeds and a lot of them very soon the perfect time to bring up a family. Which is another good reason to start giving greens when breeding even if your birds haven't touched them before. Link to comment
