Guest bluebird Posted May 23, 2006 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Not sure what happened to her leg lovely, bought her from pet shop like that, you would never know though cause she uses the stump like a leg, when she is on the top perch and she wants to get to the bottom she just falls off, its so cute to watch, it mustn't hurt her cause she does it all the time, I even put a ladder from the bottom to the top so she wouldn't have to do it but she doesn't use it. She is absolutely beautiful all over shawna not just her belly hehe I'm not going to put her in the aviary, I will keep her inside and hopefully when she trusts me enough she will have the run of the house. Guest Phoebe Posted May 23, 2006 Share Posted May 23, 2006 :ausb: She is just beautiful, sure she will adapt, you might have to make one larger flat perch for her to rest her stump on so she isn't always gripping on that one good foot, it might get tired. My cockatiel has hardly any toes on both feet but at least she has a couple so making flat perches for her made life ever so much easier. Got lovely ones, thin and about 2 inches wide at the hardware store and made them fit the cage. Link to comment

Guest bluebird Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 I actually thought of putting a wooden ruler in her cage Phoebe, but your idea is better, ill go to bunnings on the way to work and see what they have that i can use for a flat perch. Its good to see your all concerned :ausb: but I already had her checked over and no she hasn't got scaley face. Its just my bad photography :budgiedance: I thought of your stumpy when the kids wanted to name her stumpy thirtyfive black, I figure there can never be to many stumpys in the world..hehe And to everyone else, thanks, she is a beautiful bird, a special one too Link to comment
