  1. Budgies Not Taming

I got my two budgies eleven days ago from a pet store. One, the male, is flighted and I do not wish to clip his wings, and the other, the female, has french molt and lacks the ability to fly. I've had them well over a week, and they will eat, drink, and sometimes climb around the cage. My issue is taming them, because they don't seem to be making any progress. They are fine with me being in the room, but when I talk to them or enter the room they'll tense up. Pierre, the male, has only eaten millet spray from me once, and Luna has never. When I hold millet spray out to them Luna will try to get away and jump off the perch, and Pierre won't move much but doesn't seem interested in the millet. I want to know the best training method, be it tunnel or not. Most places say that they should like millet and come to me that way in as little as a few days, but that doesn't seem to be working for me. Second, I would like them to be out of the cage, but I've been told I need to tame them first and haven't made progress with that. I have a play gym for them out of the cage, but have no way of getting them out. Help, please? Thank you!
  2. We have had two beautiful budgies for around a month - both came at about age 6 weeks from a small breeder. We had read that by getting two budgies we were running the risk that they would bond to each other rather than us and be difficult to train. This seems to be true and they are now going backwards rather than forwards in their training. We were able to get them out of their cage (though they'd mainly just sit on top of it) but now they are scared whenever we open the cage and are nearly impossible to catch. They sit together nearly all the time and the female will nip us even if we are trying to get the male onto our finger. Any tips!? We love them and would really like it if they would get used to flying out of the cage and sitting on our fingers.
  3. How To Build Trust

Hello. My male parakeet seems really lonely now that the female is incubating the eggs, so i think that i should help him by giving him my company. when i talk to him he sort of tweets back to me, i dont know if this means anything but it makes me feel good. I just wish he would trust my hand, but i dont know how to get him to. once in a while, if i put my hand by his belly he will stand on it briefly, but sometimes he just flies away, and other times he pecks at my hand. However, if he is out of the cage, he will stand on my hand for longer periods of time, but my house is not very safe for him to fly around in. I dont know what to do but i want to help him, and for him to trust me. help? thank you.
