  1. Gum branches or wattle to chew on
  2. Or maybe the length of the days? Though I assume in summer it would be expected for eggs to be laid in the morning or evening rather than the middle of the day because of heat.......
  3. What type of differences in the setup?? Just curious
  4. Thanks guys, I'd never really thought about it but it makes sense
  5. So, my niece was over here yesterday and I took her to see my budgies. I explained to what the nest boxes were and that we were hoping they would lay eggs soon. Then she asked me if the budgies will lay eggs in the morning or the night (well.... not in so many coherant words ). I said the morning as a guess but it got me thinking; is there a specific time of day when budgies lay or does it depend on the pair? Thanks
  6. Sorry it took meso long but I finallyfound time to get the measurements: (in cm) Length- 44 width- 32 height-66 thanks!
  7. They are so cute!! I love the second baby.I have no idea about the gender though.....
  8. Make sure you have a safety door so no one flies out when you need to go into the aviary- we almost lost my favouritethat way (but I caught him :fear ) Also mouse proof the bottom and make sure your dad uses the right size wire (I its too big the birds can fly through or get stuck)
  9. Thanks everyone, I'll post dimensions tomorrow. I'd probably only quarintine one or two at a time- it was hard enough convincing my parents to let my have the four that I already have But little do they know that I'm extending my avairy.....
  10. Is this cage alright to quarintine birds in/ hold babies? It was originally bought for my lovebird so I know its not designed for budgies. It will be on a stand and I'll fix the perches up. I also may be able to get a rectangular cage off my Aunty (she used to breed budgies and even though she only has two now she has heaps of cages). Thanks
  11. All budgies are different. I have one extremly loud male but another one who is very quite. From what I understand and have experienced, getting more budgies (especially if you're breeding) makes your original one louder. Just my opinion
  12. I can see an iris ring. forgive my ignorance but what does that mean? its okay hun do your pied babys have rings in their eyes like your other birds or are their eyes compleatly black I'm almost 100% sure that their eyes are black but i'll check again tomorrow
  13. I can see an iris ring. forgive my ignorance but what does that mean?
  14. Hi, I know this post is a bit old but can anyone tell me where to find a feeder like or similar to this? Thanks
